If only

At the end of each month, I usually take a screenshot of the chart of our holdings and post it on the portfolio page. When I was going to do it today I thought my spreadsheet had crashed.

We have, according to the chart, pretty much just one holding, PennantPark Floating Rate Capital Ltd. Common Stock (PFLT).

After checking all the connections, I found that the error lies with Google Finance. Instead of showing the share price in USD, it is in ILA. The difference of 10.68 against 3,838.00 is big, to say the least.

Money rolling down the hill

June is 2023's best dividend month so far in terms of dividends paid. All the special and supplemental dividends in June almost completely erased the deficit from NEWT.

We are still missing 3 dividends totaling $24. They are Automatic Data Processing, Inc. Common Stock (ADP), Monroe Capital Corporation Common Stock (MRCC) and NexPoint Residential Trust, Inc. Common Stock (NXRT).

My spreadsheet is getting more and more accurate every month. Halfway through 2023, I daresay there should be no further adjustments. The spreadsheet is perfected, I hope...

Happy 4th of July

I wish all Americans around the world a happy 4th of July!

As a European, I am grateful for the sacrifices You made for our freedom in Europe in the two world wars.

Thank You!

It's a shame you can't eat the cake and have it too

The Swedish central bank's increase in the key interest rate last week has not had the desired effect. The Swedish krona continues to lose value against both EUR and USD.

This, combined with a rising stock market, makes acquisitions less profitable at the moment. While it's great that the portfolio is at ATH, it's frustrating because we're unusually liquid at the moment and I'm extremely keen to make more acquisitions.

Enough is enough

January 31, 2019 I collapsed on the bedroom floor. The whole world was spinning and I couldn't get up. Each attempt resulted in me literally falling again.

I had to go by ambulance to one of our big emergency hospitals. After one night at the hospital I was referred to a specialist who diagnosed me with BPPV. After that I lived as usual for almost exactly 2 years.

On February 2, 2021, I experienced the same thing again, albeit with milder symptoms. This time I was referred to another doctor who specializes in dizziness. He ran lots of tests and even ordered an MRI of my brain. After all the tests and the MRI, he concluded that I do not have BPPV but vertigo migraine.

My lifestyle of stress, bad eating habits and a lot of work has caused my migraine to develop into vertigo migraine. Besides the obvious of having to improve my diet, sleep more and stress less, I had to quit my one vice, Coca-Cola.

From that day on, I haven't drunk a single Coke. However, I am incredibly fond of chocolate, especially dark. Yesterday the world's best husband found an article about dark chocolate containing caffeine. I won't stop eating chocolate too, just limit myself to the weekends.
