Involuntary shareholder

4 days into April and we're only missing one dividend for the month of March, T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. Common Stock (TROW). Even without the dividend from TROW, March is our best dividend month ever. Nordea, which is usually by far the fastest with payouts, has been the worst this time.

We sold off our entire holding in Gladstone Capital Corporation Common Stock (GLAD) earlier this week except for 150 shares that the world's most perfect husband has in his endowment insurance with Nordea. Every time he has placed a sell order, the feature locks and he can neither annul nor cancel the order. Nordea has recently replaced the entire savings and investment page and I suppose some growing pains are to be expected.

My husband intends to make one last attempt tomorrow. If the error persists, he will keep the GLAD shares.

180 days

The Swedish state television, SVT, reports daily on the war between Hamas and Israel. Unfortunately, SVT reproduces almost all information from the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health in Gaza as truth.

Every day, Swedes are met by images of starving and dead children in Gaza. Which is terrible and unacceptable.

However, there is no mention of the hostages. The image of the two little boys taken hostage won't leave me. How the family members of these boys can even breathe is beyond me.

All trades are final... today, but maybe not tomorrow

In connection with receiving all the dividends today, we also took the opportunity to make a change in our portfolios. We sold all shares of Gladstone Capital Corporation Common Stock (GLAD). The reason for our decision is that GLAD has decided to do a reverse split and we have bad experience with this. Furthermore, our holding in GLAD was in the black.

We chose to invest today's payments and sales proceeds in Horizon Technology Finance Corporation Common Stock (HRZN) and Realty Income Corporation Common Stock (O).

How long this decision will stand remains to be seen. If conditions change, our decisions change.

It felt like we needed a wheelbarrow and shovel

Our store was closed during Easter, which freed us from having to be in the store. Having to meet people who actually need to fix their broken faucet or similar without having the financial resource for it is mentally exhausting. Many of them take out their frustration on store staff and as owners we consider it our job to meet them and not our staff. The current recession is much worse in this regard than the pandemic was.

Due to Easter falling at the same time as the turn of the month, today became the day we were bombarded with the March dividends. To have only had office work for 4 days and to receive so much in just one day was amazing.

April Fool's Day

100 years ago, the world's most perfect husband worked as a pipe fitter on a large construction site. Earlier tonight I heard him mumble quote "good luck with that" unquote. He had read a news notice that the Swedish construction industry had agreed to introduce a meat-free day a week. I let him believe that for a little while before reminding him that it's April 1st.

I read the best April Fool's joke of the year on X (Twitter). A dad whose daughter had put a fake turd on his breakfast table. He immediately understood that it was an April Fool's joke, took a picture with his cell phone and sent a mms with the text quote "the cat has gotten old, I had to put him down" unquote.

Today is the only day of the year that I dismiss anything that I haven't seen or experienced myself.
