We'll see how long he can last

The first week of the new approach to the study routines of the world's most perfect teenager is over. We removed several cables from his computer on Monday morning and thus rendered it unusable as per his wishes. He has spent this week's afternoons, apart from today's, at one of Stockholm's largest libraries where he studied for the upcoming End of Term Exams. However, Junior's motivation decreased with each passing day.

Today he got his cables back and was able to reconnect with his friends on the gaming platform. The laughter that seeped out of his room this evening has been like a soothing balm for my heart. In our agreement that we entered into last Saturday, it is included that he must study for at least three hours both Saturday and Sunday this week.

Although Junior's motivation has waned as the week has gone on, he has understood the benefit of being able to take it easy when he comes home from the library after a day's work well done. In contrast to before when Junior made up all sorts of excuses to postpone the start of studies which always resulted in late nights and guilty consciences. On Monday morning we will remove the cables from his computer again.
