Tax arrears

For many people, tax arrears are the worst that can happen.

In my world, it is the opposite. I have control over my income tax and know more or less what amount I owe to the tax authority.

I pay on the absolute last day due to two reasons:
Avoid unnecessary interest expense
Do not lend money to the tax authorities for free

I know that I can be perceived as obsessed, but I do not want to pay a single penny more in tax than I need.
