Tax money not at work

Regardless of what one may think, politics is ultimately about pitting groups against each other. Each nation has a certain amount of tax money that each country distributes nationally and internationally.

Despite the fact that Sweden has one of the world's highest tax burdens, our own healthcare lacks the money to be able to ensure safe care. There is no established information on exactly how many people die in Sweden while waiting to receive adequate help, but it is far too many. For example, cancer patients.

Sweden, which is a small country, is UNRWA's (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) largest aid donor. So in practice, this means that Swedes die while waiting in line for medical care to save lives in the Gaza Strip.

That both UN Secretary-General António Guterres and UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini are asking for continued aid without taking these allegations seriously enough by pausing operations until all terrorist supporters are identified and expelled from the organization is arrogant and disrespectful to the citizens of the donor countries.

The Swedish Foreign Ministry has advised against travel to the Gaza Strip for 10 years. Despite this, Swedish citizens have traveled to this area during these 10 years. If Swedish citizens have traveled to the Gaza Strip during this time period, I'm guessing that many other countries' citizens have done the same. If these people had not traveled there, the residents of the Gaza Strip would have received more of the supplies that the outside world supplies the Gaza Strip with through aid money that UNRWA has received over several years.
