Throughout my upbringing, the Swedish krona was stronger than both the Norwegian and the Danish. Sweden was the big brother in the Scandinavian family and Norway and Denmark were the younger brothers.
The rest of the world has difficulty distinguishing the different kronas, so both the Norwegian and Danish krona are being pulled down due to the Swedish krona's difficulty in defending its value.
When Norway found oil off its west coast and became one of the world's richest countries, we became the kid brother. Even though Norway is currently the third richest country in the world, their krona has difficulties due to their geographical location next to us. The Danish krona is also affected, but fares better as Denmark has tied its Danish krona to the euro.
Denmark and Norway would most certainly place Sweden in timeout for an unlimited time if the opportunity was given.
