An another friend of mine who is a grandmother helps her son and daughter-in-law babysit their daughter once every two weeks. To prepare her granddaughter for preschool, she visits the "open preschool", which is a meeting place for children and adults where trained educators work.
These "open preschools" are tax-funded and limit the number of visitors so it's first come, first served. On one of these occasions there was a note on the door saying that on this particular day only rainbow families were welcome so my friend and her grandchild were turned away.
It's fascinating how some of these inclusive people are the only ones who can exclude others and get away with it. If it had been the other way around, the media would have gone through the roof.
What these families miss is that they are excluding themselves through this procedure. I know there are many rainbow families who do not think this is a good approach.
