We were lucky this Walpurgis Night

Yesterday was the first true spring day of the season with an evening temperature of 59°F (15°C) and a fantastic evening sun with blue skies. That this first spring day coincided with Walpurgis Night was unlucky. The combination of bonfire, sun, warmth and the fact that the schools are closed today, May 1, was a perfect storm for a rowdy Walpurgis Night with a lot of alcohol among young people.

The world's most perfect teenager who was in a suburb of Stockholm with one of his best friends and his grandmother came home early. The organizers of this bonfire had missed the ignition fluid so after a 70 minute delay Junior got tired of waiting and went home. My husband and I didn't even make it to Riddarholmen before the offspring was home again. As soon as the bonfire on Riddarholmen was lit, we went home to young master Dewlar.

In contrast, it was quite chaotic in another suburb of Stockholm, where hundreds of young people had gathered who were heavily intoxicated. Finally, police in the area posted a post on Instagram where they quote "Out of consideration, we urge ALL parents who have a youth out tonight to contact your youth and bring them home" unquote.
