Even though it is more difficult to invest in a market where you do not live and work, we sensed that the Swedish krona would lose value against the rest of the world. A guess that unfortunately turned out to be correct.
As weak as the Swedish krona is at present, it has never been. Although it benefits us personally in our stock portfolios with a weak Swedish krona, I hope for Sweden's sake that the krona strengthens its position vis-à-vis the rest of the world. Preferably sooner than later.
One of Sweden's major banks, Svenska Handelbanken, believes that the Swedish krona will recover by the end of 2025. They predict that 1 USD will cost 8.70 SEK compared to today's rate where 1 USD costs 11.05 SEK. Personally, I am very doubtful about this.
