The world is upside down

For transparency and my own agenda, I strongly dislike socialism and our previous government, the Social Democrats with the support of the Green Party and the tacit acceptance of the Left Party, who ruled Sweden for 8 years. At the last election, I voted for the current government. Also, I have no transgender among my family or friends. I am all for trans people being able to live openly and without facing prejudice

On April 17, 2024, our current parliament will vote on whether Sweden should introduce a new Gender Act. Our current government supports this law. According to the proposal for the new Gender Act, a diagnosis of gender dysphoria will no longer be required to change to the opposite gender in the population register. A certificate from a doctor or psychologist that one's legal gender does not match one's perceived gender identity now and for the "foreseeable future" is sufficient.

In practice, this will mean that the majority of biological women in Sweden may have to get used to men in public changing rooms and restrooms. At the same time, a number of bathhouses in Sweden have introduced "women's swimming", which means that certain hours in the bathhouses are reserved for women only. The reason for this is that a small number of women cannot be in a pool at the same time as a man according to their religion.

The consequence is that some women are considered to be able to get used to showering at the same time as strange naked men, while other women are not considered to able to get used to swim in a pool at the same time as strange men, even though they are all wearing swimwear.
