The paperless society my a**

For several years now, for security reasons, we have printed summaries of all our holdings in the various banks in connection with the end of the month.

Due to the fact that most banks nowadays do not send out settlement notes in reference to environmental savings and the share certificates have long been removed, this security measure will be the only real proof we have of our holding in the event of a cyber attack on any of the banks. These documents are then stored in our safe. This action feels much more important today with all the overload attacks on all types of businesses including banks.

The term paperless society was coined by Frederick Wilfrid Lancaster, IL in 1978. And ever since then have we heard it – the Internet will make us paperless! Instead, I have to print out everything that I previously had delivered to my physical mailbox.
