They can't resist the lure of low-hanging fruit
Companies that get involved in political movements that are currently in fashion run the risk of taking a stand for something that can come back to bite them in the tail. What is considered right and true today may turn out to be completely wrong tomorrow. Taking a stand for something without really making sure the movement is legitimate can cost more than just money, namely their reputation.
