Not all heroes wear capes, part 2

A Swedish TV program called "Assignment Audit" whose mission is investigative journalism was contacted by the White Hat who informed that he/she had hacked several of these clusters of youths committing these heinous crimes.

The White Hat had monitored and recorded audio and screen shares and offered all material to the editors. The hacker also assisted the police with all the material. It is extremely heartbreaking to see how these criminals are scamming elderly people, many of them losing their life savings.

At one point when White Hat is monitoring a scam in real time, he hears the desperation in the victim's voice as the scammer pressures the victim. His intention was initially only to monitor and record, not to intervene. But this time the White Hat couldn't just watch watch as the scammer pressured the elderly woman who repeatedly said that she doesn't want to do this anymore and decides to cut the contact between the victim and the scammer right before the victim is about to transfer all her savings to the scammer.

The fraudster assumed it was his victim who ended the connection, which angered him. The scammer called the elderly woman things that should not be repeated.

In my eyes, the White Hat, even if he is guilty of data breach, is a superhero who saved the woman's money.
